Banana milk shake

This is the banana shake I prepared in the evening. Sorry for my poor clicks. :( But I was in a hurry to post the recipes soon :) It is the 16th recipe of my Wish List.

I'll take you to the recipe straight away !! I did it only for one person since there was only one banana left over. If you are making it for two or more just go on multiplying the quantities I mention by two ;)

Ingredients (For single glass)

1 banana (riped)

2 tsp sugar

1 glass milk

Method

Chop the bananas and add it to mixer.

Add sugar and only half a glass of milk.(We'll add the remaining half later)

Mix the ingredients in a mixie thoroughly.

Now add the remaining milk to the mixture. And mix it again.

The milk shake is ready. Serve it chilled always :)

Relish it :) Happy cooking till then :) Take care :)

Potato side dish / fry (Second type)

Greetings to all!!! Today the 16th and the 8th recipe of my Wish List gets completed!! I prepared banana milk shake and a side dish of potato, (sort of a fry). The potato fry I made it for lunch and the milk shake I prepared it for the evening :) I'll take you through the recipe of potato fry now. In my next post I'll tell you about the milk shake :)

So, here goes..

Ingredients: (For two - three people)

2 medium sized potatoes

2 tsp chilly powder

½ tsp garam masala

½ tsp turmeric powder

¾ tesp cumin seeds

A small amount of jaggery ( About the size of a marble )

A pinch of asafoetida (hingu in Kannada)

Salt to taste

Oil for shallow frying

Method:

Take a bowl and add the chilly powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, jaggery ( break it into bits and add it ) and salt.

Take a pinch of asafoetida (hingu) in a small dish.

Add hot water to it and keep it aside. Let it dissolve as shown in the picture below. You can dissolve it using your fingers too.

Add the asafoetida water into the masala. And mix it well to get following kind of mixture.

Wash and peel the potatoes. And cut them into slices of half a centimeter thickness. Add it to the mixture.

Bind all the ingredients using hands. See to it that every single slice of potato is coated with the masala as shown below.

Keep it aside for ten minutes. (No need of adding water while mixing the potatoes with the mixture. The potatoes will release their water content and make the mixture moist.)

Keep a frying pan ready and grease it with 1 tsp of oil and heat it. After ten minutes are done, place the slices on the pan.

After placing all the slices, add oil over it and place a lid on it, so that potaoes are cooked. Cook it for ten minutes on the lowest flame on the first side.

After ten minutes, flip all the slices, add oil over it and again close it with a lid for ten minutes.

After ten minutes, poke the potaoes with a sharp knife and check whether potatoes are boiled. (Potaoes should be soft by now.) Keep it closed with a lid and cook it for some more time if required.

The dish is ready now :) You can have it with any kind of chutney if you want. But I love having it with rice as a side dish. I love it more with curd rice :) I often prepare this and have it :)

Try this and post you suggestions :)

Happy cooking :)
